MENDIP HILLS AONB
The Mendip Hills AONB covers 198 square kilometres; 121 square kilometres are within Somerset with the remainder divided between North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset.

Cornwall

CORNWALL AONB
The Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty comprises 12 separate areas, designated under the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 for special landscape protection. Of the areas, eleven cover stretches of coastline; the twelfth is Bodmin Moor.

TAMAR VALLEY AONB
The Tamar Valley is an area rich in beauty and history, possessing some of the finest scenery in the West Country and the estuary is an important haven for wildlife, such as the avocet and little egret.

BLACKDOWN HILLS AONB
The Blackdown Hills form a tranquil, beautiful, and relatively isolated landscape on the Devon and Somerset border. Steep ridges, high plateau, valleys and springs create a charming mosaic of countryside dotted with farms, villages and ancient features.

EAST DEVON ANOB
The East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) landscape is characterised by intimate wooded combes, vast areas of heathland, fertile river valleys and breathtaking cliffs or hilltops.

DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK
The official website for the Dartmoor National Park. Its legacy of prehistoric and more recent remains make Dartmoor of huge interest to archaeologists.

EXMOOR NATIONAL PARK
The official website for the Dartmoor National Park. A unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland, shaped by people and nature over thousands of years.

NORTH DEVON COAST AONB
The North Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a stunning coastal area which is nationally protected for the beauty of its landscape. It is at the heart of North Devon's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and covers 171 km sq of the coastal landscape from Marsland Mouth on the Cornish border to Combe Martin on the boundary of Exmoor National Park.

SOUTH DEVON ANOB
Stretching from Torbay to the outskirts of Plymouth, the AONB coastline is one of many moods and also a Heritage Coast. It ranges from sheltered hidden coves to the jagged pre-Cambrian cliffs of Bolt Head and from the long golden expanses of Slapton Sands to the cool, tree-shaded serenity of the Dart and Kingsbridge estuaries, some of Britain's finest coastline.

DORSET AONB
The Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is blessed with some of the most striking sequences of beautiful countryside that are unique in Britain. The landscape has a rich historic and built heritage as generations have successively shaped the area, and a rich legacy of cultural associations that bring an extra dimension and depth of understanding to our appreciation of the Dorset Landscape.

CRANBORNE CHASE AND WEST WILTSHIRE DOWNS AONB
This nationally designated AONB covers 380 sq miles of countryside overlapping the boundaries of Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset. It is a diverse landscape offering areas of rolling chalk grassland, ancient woodlands, chalk escarpments, downland hillsides and chalk river valleys each with a distinct and recognisable character. The landscapes of the AONB today, as they were in the past, are extraordinarily rich.

WYE VALLEY AONB
The Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is an internationally important protected landscape straddling the border between England and Wales. It is one of the most dramatic and scenic landscape areas in southern Britain. This area covers parts of the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire.

Isle of Wight

ISLE OF WIGHT AONB
The designated area of the AONB covers about half of the island. It is concentrated around the south-west and north-west coastal areas and includes an area of inland downland in the island's east. It also covers about half the coastline, including both the Hamstead and Tennyson Heritage Coast areas.

QUANTOCK HILLS AONB
A narrow, gently curving 19-km ridge, the Quantock Hills run north west from the Vale of Taunton Deane to the Bristol Channel coast. Standing out above the agricultural plain, the ridge looks far more imposing than its actual height of 245 to 275m and is famous for its views that, by repute, stretch over nine counties.

The New Forest is an area of southern England which includes one of the largest remaining tracts of unenclosed pasture land, heathland and forest in the heavily-populated south east of England. It covers south-west Hampshire and extends into south-east Wiltshire

The North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is located in the English counties of Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. It is a unique and spectacular landscape that includes tranquil open downland, ancient woodland and chalk streams.
